Bernardo Silva's calamitous free kick against Brentford hailed 'the worst ever', as fans insist 'they would have done better' after Man City star's poor attempt went out for a throw-in

Bernardo Silva's calamitous free-kick against Brentford has been soundly mocked on social media.

While Manchester City won the game 1-0 courtesy of Erling Haaland's goal, Silva's disastrous set-piece, which came while the game was still goalless, was a talking point for many.

After the hosts had spent a significant time setting up the free-kick opportunity 30 yards from Mark Flekken's goal, veteran Silva managed to hit the ball straight out for a throw-in.

Pep Guardiola slowly collapsed to the floor after watching the move - and many online commentators were also confused as to what the Portuguese pro was trying to achieve.
