Ben Godfrey is set to leave Atalanta in January with Nottingham Forest and Wolves among four clubs keen to bring the former Everton defender back to the Premier League

Atalanta are set to allow Ben Godfrey to leave the club for a return to the Premier League in January.

It is understood the Serie A side are open to loan offers for the centre back, who moved to Italy in the summer for around £11million.

Godfrey, 26, joined Atalanta from Everton but has found his first team opportunities limited since his arrival, making four substitute appearances so far.

The defender, who has two England caps, could now make a return to these shores when the transfer window re-opens with at least four Premier League teams showing an interest in Godfrey.
