Luka Modric is primed and ready to win the Ballon d'Or and end the decade long dominance of Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
Not since Kaka in 2007 has a player outside of Messi and Ronaldo won the prestigious individual award. But having won FIFA's 'The Best' award earlier this year, Real Madrid ace Modric is one of the favourites to end 2018 with the trophy.
An awards ceremony at the Grand Palais in Paris on Monday evening will name the best men's and women's player of the year.
