Aussie skipper Pat Cummins has turned his back on a $1.3million Indian Premier League (IPL) pay day, citing the heavy International cricket calendar as the reason he will skip next year's tournament.
The 29-year-old, who is now Australia's Test and one-day captain, announced on Twitter on Tuesday morning that he would be skipping the 2023 edition of the IPL, where he has been playing for the Kolkata Knight Riders.
'I've made the difficult decision to miss next years IPL. The international schedule is packed with Tests and ODI's for the next 12 months, so will take some rest ahead of an Ashes series and World Cup,' Cummins wrote on Twitter.
