Atletico Madrid are prepared to turn their attention to Cesar Azpilicueta as they begin the search to replace the exit-bound Kieran Trippier.
Trippier is likely to depart the Wanda Metropolitano this month, with a move back to the Premier League with Newcastle United looking most likely for the former Tottenham Hotspur right-back.
Diego Simeone's side are already looking at replacements and the Blues captain has emerged as a prime candidate.
According to AS, Azpilicueta's ability to play centre-back as well as on the right also make him a versatile option and he is highly rated by Simeone.
