Aston Villa decide against making a move for midfielder Yves Bissouma as Brighton want £50MILLION for player who is out of contract next year

Aston Villa have decided against pursuing for a deal for Yves Bissouma at Brighton.

Manager Steven Gerrard will work with his current squad for the rest of the season.

Villa had a £25m offer rejected earlier this month and are likely to return with a new bid for Bissouma in the summer when the 25-year-old will have just 12 months left on contract.

Bissouma is back from international duty with Mali at the African Cup of Nations and was said to be open to making the move.

Brighton wanted £50m for the 25-year-old who has 18 months left on contract and Villa know that valuation will have to come down in the summer.
