Arsenal suffer a major blow in the battle for a top four finish with Kieran Tierney ruled out for the rest of the SEASON as the Gunners confirm the Scotland international will undergo surgery on his knee this week

Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney has been ruled out of action for the remainder of the season after sustaining a knee injury while away on international duty with Scotland.

The 24-year-old felt discomfort in his left knee after completing a training session with Arsenal on Thursday, March 31. As a result, he was ruled out of Arsenal's 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace.

Tierney underwent a 'specialist consultation' on Tuesday morning and the club's medical team decided it would be within his best interest to undergo surgery.

Arsenal have since confirmed that the procedure will take place in London in the forthcoming days and that his rehabilitation programme will start immediately after.
