It’s one of the iconic goals of the Arsene Wenger era at Arsenal.
Thierry Henry, who went onto be the club’s record scorer with 228 strikes, was regularly firing in spectacular goals but this Highbury classic potentially eclipses them all.
Back in October 2000 and embroiled in a battle with title rivals Manchester United, Henry received the ball from Gilles Grimandi around 20 yards out, flicked the ball up with his back to goal, and in one motion swivelled round to dispatch a glorious instinctive volley over Fabien Barthez. Current Gunners star Santi Cazorla had a go at recreating Henry’s masterpiece.
