Arsenal ground staff clear the Emirates Stadium pitch of snow ahead of Premier League clash with Manchester City... but areas around the ground remain icy due to 'Beast from the East'

After hours of hard work, the Emirates Stadium pitch has finally been cleared of snow, with Arsenal confirming their game against Manchester City is on.

Ground staff have been working throughout Thursday to clear away the snow brought by Siberian storms blown over from Russia, known as the 'Beast from the East'.

The club released pictures of the before and after, with the pitch initially completely white, but thanks to heat lamps, along with good old-fashioned shovels and manpower, eventually restored to green - albeit with spots of ice still visible.
