Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech debuts weird £120 gloves going halfway up his forearms against Liverpool... pity they didn't help him keep a clean sheet

If you want to chart the rise of technology and engineering in football, there are few clearer examples of modernisation than the goalkeeping glove.

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has taken another step forward after debuting a truly remarkable pair of gloves during their weekend Premier League visit to Liverpool.

Cech wore a pair of Puma evoDISC gloves - mostly black and white but with a splash of green across the fingers, buts mostly notable for completely covering his wrists and rising halfway up his forearms.
