Arsenal are facing the first test of their new wage structure as they accelerate contract talks with Aaron Ramsey.
Arsene Wenger last week insisted Mesut Ozil’s new contract worth up to £350,000-per-week - a deal that has virtually doubled their current wage parameters - would not cause difficulties in trying to secure the futures of other first-team stars.
Similarly, new signings Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Henrikh Mkhitryan are on deals close to £200,000-per-week.
Fit-again Ramsey, who scored a hat-trick against Everton at the weekend, is inside the final 18 months of his contract and is yet to agree a new deal.
