The Chilean international turned back on an agreement to join Manchester City to make a shock move to Old Trafford and Purslow sees it as a great deal
Manchester United got a "once in a generation" bargain when they snapped up Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal, according to former Liverpool director Christian Purslow.
Despite the Chile international reaching an agreement to join Manchester City, he made a shock move to Old Trafford towards the end of the January transfer window in a swap deal including Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
United manager Jose Mourinho hailed the deal as a "fantastic" on for his side, and Purslow agrees that it was the Red Devils who came out of it looking better.
