Alexis Sanchez protest march attracts just five fans in Chile as organisers reveal bid to force the forward to leave Arsenal was a joke

A protest march calling for Alexis Sanchez to leave Arsenal was attended by just five fans in the striker's homeland on Wednesday night.

More than 14,000 Chilean supporters had signed up for the protest in Santiago, the country's capital, after a Facebook page was set up in the aftermath of the Gunners' 5-1 Champions League humbling at Bayern Munich on February 15.

The page insisted Chilean supporters were fed up of watching their star player carry his team and called on him to move to a club more likely to win major trophies.
