Alan Shearer has described Jordan Pickford's wild tackle on Dele Alli as a 'disgusting challenge' and insisted the Everton goalkeeper should have been sent off.
In the closing stages of the first-half in Sunday's game at Goodison Park, Alli was played through on goal only to be adjudged by the linesman.
However, as the referee blew his whistle for the infringement, Pickford dangerously dived two-footed into his England team-mate in a tackle that could have led to a serious injury.
Alli got up and walked away sheepishly as referee Paul Tierney handed Pickford a dressing down but the goalkeeper ultimately avoided any punishment.
