AFC Bournemouth’s Benik Afobe ruled out of Newcastle United showdown

AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe revealed that Benik Afobe will miss Saturday’s English Premier League encounter against Newcastle United due to an undisclosed injury.

The 24-year-old limped off the pitch and was replaced by Callum Wilson in the Cherries’ 1-0 loss to Chelsea last weekend at the Vitality Stadium.

And Howe has stated that the former Arsenal player will not be available for the tie against Rafael Benitez’s men but he is expected to be back in action after the international break.

"Both Benik Afobe and Junior Stanislas will miss this weekend," Howe told club website.
