Portland Trail Blazers forward Zach Collins suffered an ankle injury during workouts, as reported by Dwight Jaynes of NBC Sports Northwest. Collins sustained a Grade 2 sprain and torn ligament in his right ankle; he is in a walking boot, but he is expected to be back by the opening of training camp.
The former first-round pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, Collins averaged 6.8 points and 4.2 rebounds last season, mostly coming off the bench. He is expected to compete for a starting role in a revamped Trail Blazers rotation this season.
