The Portland Trail Blazers are guaranteeing Carmelo Anthony’s contract for the rest of the season, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Portland had until early January to guarantee Anthony’s non-guaranteed deal that he signed when he joined the team. The contract in total will be about $2.15 million, as ESPN’s Bobby Marks notes.
Anthony is averaging 16.9 points and 5.9 rebounds over 31 minutes per game. He recently won Player of the Week for a stretch that saw Portland go 3-0 and break a four-game losing streak.
