Portland, Oregon will host a WNBA franchise with play beginning in 2026. The news broke today as the basketball league announced its latest expansion. The name of the new franchise has yet to be announced.
The team will be owned RAJ Sports, with Lisa Bhathal Merage and her brother, Alex Bhathal, at the helm. They are familiar faces in town, also owning the Portland Thorns of the NWSL.
