Portland Trail Blazers center Robert Williams III is nearing his return to the lineup after missing the last six games with a concussion. The seven-year NBA veteran still needs to pass some more checks in the NBA concussion protocol, but there’s a chance he could play Friday night against the San Antonio Spurs after he fully participated in Thursday’s practice.
“We were ramping it up today, doing a lot,” Williams told reporters after practice Thursday afternoon. “I did the whole practice today. ... Hopefully [I can play Friday], but like I said, I got boxes to check off still.
