It’s been a bit of a rough start to Hassan Whiteside’s career in Portland.
The 7-1 center, acquired via trade from the Miami Heat in July, rolled his left ankle in the early days of training camp, and while he’s appeared in three of Portland’s four preseason games thus far, he has yet to look completely healthy.
That unfortunate trend continued Wednesday night in Salt Lake City.
Whiteside started Wednesday’s game versus the Jazz, but suffered a cut on his hand in the first quarter and did not return in the first half after exiting. He returned to the court in the third quarter, but ended up rolling his left ankle while trying to secure a rebound.
