For essentially this entire decade, it seems that the NBA has been predicated on super teams. Teams such as the Heatles, to the Hampton’s Five Warriors, and LeBron’s second iteration of the Cavs have all gained fame for their construction leading to championships.
But for every successful super team, there has been one (or more) that have failed. Just look at teams such as the 2012-13 Lakers, and the 2013-14 Nets are just a few examples of why stacking teams with stars is not a sure thing.
The Portland Trail Blazers have long been known for having one of the NBA’s top duos, with a star studded backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.
