Long before he became a United States senator, Oregon’s Senator Ron Wyden had a dream very relatable to those who grew up shooting hoops: wanting to play professional basketball.
Friday morning, Wyden talked with Blazer’s Edge editors Brandon Goldner and Conor Bergin of the “We Like the Blazers” podcast about those hoop dreams, the Portland Trail Blazers, the need for the franchise to erect a statue of Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas, the nuclear athleticism of Shaedon Sharpe, and more.
“I grew up for years and years believing that I could play in the NBA,” Wyden said.
