Training Camp Report: Robert Williams’ Health And Two-A-Days

Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups said center Robert Williams III sat out practice Thursday due to “general soreness” not involving Williams’ right knee that required surgery last season.

“He’s been doing okay. He got through it pretty good the first day, and then he didn’t practice today,” Billups told reporters at the third day of training camp. “He’s been a little sore, just some general soreness type stuff, so he wasn’t able to get through, but when he’s out there he’s been doing good.”

Billups continued: “You gotta try to be smart and fair to Rob, but in fairness to him, his soreness has nothing to do with his knee, which I think is a positive thing for us.
