The Portland Trail Blazers held their first day of training camp Tuesday, marking the first official practice of the 2024-25 season. The session also marked the first official practice of rookie lottery pick Donovan Clingan’s NBA career.
After two national championships at the University of Connecticut, going No. 7 in June’s NBA Draft, and making his Summer League debut in July, the start of training camp was another milestone for the 20-year-old, 7-foot-2 center.
“This is when it kind of like set in and really felt real,” Clingan told reporters late Tuesday morning at the Blazers practice facility in Tualatin.
