With his left leg in a walking boot and propped up on a scooter, Wesley Matthews came rolling out from the weight room on to the Trail Blazers' practice floor and headed directly for an open basket.
Flanked by assistant coaches Kim Hughes, Dale Osbourne and player development director Hersey Hawkins, Matthews spent around 20 minutes shooting at various spots inside the arc and from three-point range. With his right leg planted on the ground and his left leg resting on the scooter, he nailed stationary shot after stationary shot.
"I'm planning on making my Game 6 return," joked Matthews, who spoke with the media in a group setting for the first time since undergoing surgery to repair a ruptured Achilles suffered last month.
