The Portland Trail Blazers have waived wing Henri Drell days before training camp, according to Sports Illustrated’s Alex Kirschenbaum.
The 6’8 Estonian, who spent 2023-24 with the Chicago Bulls’ G League affiliate Windy City Bulls, joined the Blazers on an Exhibit 10 contract in mid August.
Drell has worked his way through Europe with stops in Germany and Italy before joining Windy City in 2022. After a trip back to Europe, he re-joined the Chicago Bulls on a two-way contract. As the 2023-24 season wound down, he played four games in Chicago, becoming the second Estonian player to reach the NBA.
