DALLAS — Damian Lillard's breathtaking play Friday night in Dallas stole a little bit of Terry Stotts' thunder.
The Trail Blazers' coach earned career win No. 300 when his team defeated the Mavericks 105-95 at American Airlines Center. The milestone prompted Stotts to flashback to his days as an assistant coach with the Seattle SuperSonics, when he celebrated the 300th victory of his former mentor, George Karl.
"I think back when I was with George Karl, when he got his 300th and we were in Tacoma," Stotts said. "We went out to dinner to celebrate and one of the things he said was, 'Someday we'll be celebrating your 300th.
