The Portland Trail Blazers have announced the signings of former Boston Celtic point guard Phil Pressey and undrafted power forward Cliff Alexander. Terms of the contracts have not yet been disclosed.
Pressey, 24, averaged 3.5 points in 12.0 minutes per game for the Celtics in 2014-15. Although he did not figure heavily into their plans, he was well regarded for his hustle in limited court time. With the roster additions of Isaiah Thomas at the trade deadline, and Terry Rozier in the 2015 NBA Draft, the Celtics’ backcourt has become too crowded for Pressey to remain in Boston.
