Two of the primary issues the Trail Blazers have encountered in the first five weeks of the 2020-21 season have been giving up huge leads and losing starters to injury. Thursday night in Houston, they did both.
After jumping out to a 20-point first quarter lead, the Trail Blazers fell behind by as many as 13 points and lost Derrick Jones Jr. to a left foot sprain in a 104-101 loss to the Rockets in front of a crowd of 3,154 Thursday night at the Toyota Center.
“I thought it was a good effort by everybody,” said Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts.
