Forty times this season, as Ed Davis has slipped in and out of his Trail Blazers uniform at the Moda Center, he's glanced at a plaque on the wall near his stall in the corner of the Portland locker room.
The plaque, which commemorates the honorees of the Maurice Lucas Award, features a chunk of hardwood, the No. 20 and the words "The Enforcer."
Moving forward, it will feature something else: Davis' name.
The Blazers' backup forward was named the 2015-16 recipient of the award, given annually to the player who best represents the "indomitable spirit" of Lucas through contributions on the court and in the community.
