The Trail Blazers’ surprise playoff berth had a lot to do with their improved reserve unit this season. These improvements haven’t gone unnoticed, as Ed Davis and Allen Crabbe both received votes yesterday for the NBA Sixth Man Award. Davis led the way for Portland with 21 points in the final tally, which was good enough to crack the top ten (8th place). He received one first place vote (worth five points), five second place votes (worth three points), and one third place vote (worth one point). Crabbe only received one third place vote, but it shouldn’t be overlooked entirely.
