The Portland Trail Blazers announced this morning that their trade with the Sacramento Kings—exchanging Kent Bazemore and Anthony Tolliver for Trevor Ariza, Caleb Swanigan, and Wenyen Gabriel—is official. News of the trade broke on Saturday, followed by cap analysis, grades, and questions about what’s next.
The deal could not be completed until today because of Gabriel’s contract status.
Neil Olshey called the trio “strong mid-season acquisitions” in the press release below, citing Ariza’s experience and fit, Swanigan’s familiarity (the Blazers drafted him in 2017), and Gabriel’s potential.
