The Portland Trail Blazers were officially eliminated from the 2024 Emirates NBA Cup race by virtue of a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night. To accommodate the NBA Cup tournament—and the possibility of any of 30 franchises participating in it—two games are left off of each team’s schedule at the beginning of the season. Those are filled in once the Cup Group Play results are known.
Since the Blazers are now outside the tournament bracket, their missing two games have been filled in. Local reporter Sean Highkin is reporting that Portland will face Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs at home on Friday, December 13th, then Kevin Durant and the Phoenix Suns on the road on Sunday, December 15th.
