Another member of the 2020 basketball recruiting class has decided to skip the NCAA route and enter the professional ranks. Unlike Jalen Green and Isaiah Todd, who will join the G League, Makur Maker officially announced he is going to jump directly into the 2020 NBA Draft pool. This is not a surprise, Maker has expressed interest in making the prep-to-pro leap since the fall of 2019.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the NBA agreed to allow Maker to enter the draft after he narrowly missed graduating with his original 2019 high school class (note: targeting a later class is a common practice for top prospects).
