With 25 games left in the season, the Portland Trail Blazers do not have a ton of space for experimentation with their identity. Newly fashioned backup point guard, Evan Turner, has been a critical part of this team since the outset of the season. However, the Blazers should consider using this final stretch to see if their ceiling raises by giving ET spottier minutes rather than keeping him as an institution in their rotation.
This article is not meant to be a slam piece on Turner. In fact, throughout this year, I’ve praised Turner’s ability to lift this bench and his selflessness in owning the backup role for the sake of wanting to win rather than start.
