San Antonio Spurs Head Coach Gregg Popovich will not return for the 2024-25 season and his coaching future remains uncertain. Shams Charania of ESPN broke the news this evening that a mild stroke Popovic suffered in November will keep him sidelined through the remainder of the year.
Over the course of his 29-year coaching career with the Spurs, Popovich has earned a historic 1390 regular-season wins, 170 in the playoffs, and 5 NBA championships.
This week the Spurs also found out that 2023 first-overall pick Victor Wembanyama will miss the rest of the season with deep vein thrombosis in his shoulder.
