Special Olympics Oregon Donates Shoes to Rip City 3-on-3

By now, you've probably heard of Nike's new FLYEASE innovation, a shoe designed to "help athletes of all abilities and ages perform better." The FLYEASE design is geared toward helping athletes get in and out of basketball shoes a little easier compared to the traditional method of tying shoelaces. Nike designer Tobie Hatfield details the inspiration behind the shoe in the video below.

Partnering with Nike, Special Olympics Oregon has donated a number of shoes to athletes participating in this weekend's Rip City 3-on-3 basketball tournament on the Rose Quarter campus. Whether you're participating in the week's festivities as either a player or fan, be on the look out for FLYEASE technology on the feet of several athletes at Rip City 3-on-3.
