Anfernee Simons provided a boost to the Portland Trail Blazers’ offense with a stellar 27-point night on Tuesday and he managed to reach a pair of noteworthy benchmarks along the way. The former IMG Academy standout connected on nine three-point attempts to start the game—a feat that surpassed Terry Porter’s 7-of-7 franchise record and tied the NBA record for a perfect nine shots from distance to start a contest.
After the game, NBC Sports Northwest’s Jamie Hudson highlighted Simons’ comments on his superb outing. According to the third-year guard, he knew it was going to be a big night once he picked up where he left off in the second half.
