As Portland Trail Blazers forward Toumani Camara shot free throws in the fourth quarter of Portland’s preseason opener against the LA Clippers, you could hear a pulse in the arena.
“Supersonics! Supersonics!” the crowd chanted as the Portland player knocked down a pair.
The Friday night game, called the Rain City Showcase, took place in Seattle at Climate Pledge Arena. The pulse wasn’t Blazers or Clippers faithful. It was the sound of the proud, but long-dormant Seattle Supersonics fanbase reminding the sports world it’s still here.
It wasn’t the first time the Sonics fans made their presence known on Friday.
