The Portland Trail Blazers played a competitive first half against the Sacramento Kings, but could not maintain that performance as they fell 111-98. Poor shooting from behind the arc and strong performances by the Kings’ stars were too much for the Blazers to overcome in the loss.
Blazer of the game: Deandre Ayton. Ayton led the Blazers in scoring with 20 points on 10/17 shooting from the field. He also added 11 rebounds to secure his fourth double-double in as many games to start the season. His presence in the paint in the game helped other Blazers find space to work in the midrange, and he was able to get easy baskets near the rim with consistency.
