Portland Trail Blazers second-year wing Rayan Rupert’s stat line was modest in Portland’s 106-105 victory over the LA Clippers Wednesday night. Rupert went for seven points and one rebound in seven minutes. Still, the 20-year-old Frenchman may have saved the Blazers.
With the Blazers trailing 90-82 early in the fourth quarter and the game in danger of getting away, Rupert ripped off all seven of his points in 25 seconds. First he scored a driving bank shot in the lane. Then he went coast-to-coast for an and-1 layup. Finally, he made up for missing the previous free throw by burying a left-wing triple.
