Robin Jones, a member of the 1977 Portland Trail Blazers NBA Championship team, has passed away.
Jones, a wiry 6’9” big man, averaged 5.5 points per game backing up Blazer legends Bill Walton and Maurice Lucas in his lone season in Portland.
When the Trail Blazers celebrated the 40th anniversary of the 1977 Championship team in 2017, Jones joined his former teammates in the Moda Center for the special recognition, despite being confined to a wheelchair in his later years.
Trail Blazers founder Harry Glickman made a statement.
“I was very sorry to hear about Robin.
