The Portland Trail Blazers came close but much like us all could not fend off Father Time, Dwyane Wade and the Miami Heat, falling 118-108 at home on national TV.
Miami never trailed and managed to keep Portland at arm’s length for virtually the entire game. After falling behind by double-digits early in the first half, the Blazers made several inspired runs, but couldn’t find a way to complete the comeback. The Heat started at a blistering pace - four players didn’t even miss a shot until the second half - and gave themselves a cushion that was just too much to overcome.
