Looks like the Blazers have opened up a spot on their bench.
It is not a player that is leaving as Neil Olshey and Terry Stotts will be looking for an assistant coach for the upcoming season.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Vanterpool has left the Blazers in order to become the associate head coach for newly minted Timberwolves head coach Ryan Saunders.
Sources: Minnesota is hiring Portland assistant David Vanterpool as associate head coach. He’ll run defense and play key role in support of Ryan Saunders. Vanterpool spent seven years with Blazers, playing a prominent part in growth of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.
