In exit interviews GM Neil Olshey stated that Festus Ezeli would not return to the team. The wait then began as to the official word on his contract status.
That word came Friday afternoon as the Blazes officially declined his team option, per CSNNW’s Jason Quick:
Quick reported earlier in the day that an Ezeli decision was delayed as he could be used as a possible trade chip. But it looks as though Portland couldn’t find a suitor for an injury-riddled center who hasn’t suited up in-game since the 2016 NBA Finals.
The Festus Ezeli signing last summer was met by much joy at first.
