Maurice Harkless did not have a great regular season. He struggled with a recurring knee injury early in the season and missed nearly an entire month before returning in late November. When he returned, he was a major disappointment on the floor. Harkless shot only 27.5% from three this season, which was a major drop from his mark of 41.5% last season.
To make matters worse, Harkless was not very effective on defense. Many analysts including myself preferred Jake Layman in the starting lineup over Harkless. Heading into the postseason, there was hope that Harkless would elevate his level of play, and so far he has.
