Earlier today, the Portland Trail Blazers acquired wing Rodney Hood from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Blazers will send Nik Stauskas, Wade Baldwin IV, a 2021 second round pick, and a 2023 second round pick to the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for Hood.
The deal made a lot of sense from Cleveland’s perspective. Hood is set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer and the Cavaliers are not competing for anything this season. So, two second round picks is a decent return considering their circumstances. Baldwin IV is also a young player who could eventually develop into a rotation player.
