The Portland Trail Blazers made a trade right before the trade deadline. No, unfortunately, they did not acquire Nikola Mirotic, Taurean Waller-Prince, or Aaron Gordon. Instead, the front office made a smaller deal acquiring Skal Labissiere from the Sacramento Kings in exchange for Caleb Swanigan.
Even though it was not the trade that fans were hoping for, it was still a smart move. Labissiere was a first-round pick in the 2016 NBA Draft and is still only 22 years old.
Labissiere was widely viewed as the frontrunner to be selected first overall in the 2016 draft out of high school.
