We all saw Deni Avdija’s missed layup at the end of the Portland Trail Blazers loss to the Phoenix Suns last week. The miss exemplified the Israeli’s first few weeks with the Oregon franchise — a lot of intriguing basketball overwhelmed by inaccuracy.
But I’m not concerned.
Before the season, I twice professed my appreciation for the deal the Blazers executed to get the fifth-year small forward. I waxed lyrical about a talented, versatile 23-year-old whose descending four-year, $55 million deal was an absolute steal for the franchise.
My stance hasn’t changed.
