The brewing tension in the Portland Trail Blazers’ postseason series against the Oklahoma City Thunder isn’t reserved to just Damian Lillard and Russell Westbrook. In the final moments of Game 3, veteran forward Paul George delivered a late-game dunk with the clock expiring. The Thunder were out in front by a double-digit margin at the time of the play—making George’s eyebrow-raising finish noteworthy.
After the game, George borrowed one of Westbrook’s snarky responses to explain his late-game attempt (via @SportsCenter).
While it wasn’t a dunk in the postseason, a similar play from Jimmer Fredette garnered a forceful response from Meyers Leonard when the Knicks guard attempted a meaningless shot with the clock expiring back in 2016 (the two quickly remedied the disagreement after the game).
